Does Your Child Need Physiotherapy?
Your child’s paediatrician or GP will often recommend physiotherapy if your child has complications during pregnancy, birth or has a physical condition.
As a parent or caregiver, you can observe for signs at home to prevent overlooking your child’s movement difficulties (which can often be subtle). These signs include:
- Not meeting certain milestones (e.g., skipped crawling, not jumping)
- Clumsy and uncoordinated movement pattern
- Poor balance, frequently tripping or falling over obstacles
- Altered walking pattern
- Stiff and tight muscles or joints
- Floppy body
- Sensory sensitivities (e.g., avoiding touching certain textures)
- Sensory seeking (e.g., always moving around, leaning on people or things)
If you notice any of these signs, or have concerns about your child’s development, reach out to our paediatric physiotherapist for a comprehensive assessment. We are committed to ensure your little one experiences a smooth and healthy growth journey!
